Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Known for her work in TV and film since the late 1980s she's been awarded numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her birthplace was and grew up in New York New York. As Bassett was around five She and her sister relocated into St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived with their mother, who was been divorced from her father. While in high school Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and an advanced degree (1983) in the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Master in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
